Current position

Marja Aartsen, PhD, works as research professor at NOVA Norwegian Social research at Oslo Metropolitan University. She is a sociologist and specialized in longitudinal research on social relations, social exclusion, loneliness, and cognitive functioning in the second half of life. She is interested in social issues related to aging in place and active or successful ageing. She served as one of the Editors-in-Chief of the European Journal of Ageing until the summer 2022.
